QR Code Generator

What Is It?

The QR Code Generator is a versatile tool for creating high-quality, scannable QR (Quick Response) codes. QR codes serve as a bridge between the physical and digital worlds, allowing anyone with a smartphone to instantly access a URL, read a block of text, or connect to a service without typing.

Our generator provides control over size and error correction, ensuring your codes are optimized for everything from digital screens to high-end print materials.

How to Use

  1. Input Data: Enter your URL (e.g., https://example.com) or text into the input field.
  2. Set Specs: Choose your Size in pixels and the Error Correction Level.
  3. Generate: Click Generate QR Code to create the matrix.
  4. Download: Save the resulting QR code as a high-quality PNG for your marketing or personal use.

Understanding Error Correction (ECC)

  • Low (L): Approx 7% of data can be restored. Use this for high-resolution digital displays where the code is unlikely to be damaged.
  • Medium (M): Approx 15% data restoration. The standard “sweet spot” for most web and print use.
  • Quartile (Q): Approx 25% data restoration. Good for environments where the code might get slightly dirty.
  • High (H): Approx 30% data restoration. Essential for harsh environments or when you want to overlay a small logo in the center of the code.

Benefits

  • Universal Compatibility: Works with all iOS, Android, and dedicated QR scanner apps.
  • Static & Permanent: These are “static” QR codes. The information is baked into the pattern, so they never expire and don’t require an internet connection to function.
  • Privacy Driven: The library runs locally. Your URLs and text are never sent to our servers.
  • High Resolution: Generate codes up to 1000px, suitable for large posters and print media.

Common Use Cases

  • Marketing: Adding a QR code to business cards, flyers, or posters to drive traffic to a website.
  • Digital Menus: Restaurants can generate a code that links directly to their online menu PDF.
  • Wi-Fi Sharing: Encoding your network name and password for guests to scan and join.
  • Event Tickets: Generating unique codes for check-ins or registration at conferences and meetups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. These are static codes. As long as the URL or data you encoded into the code remains valid, the QR code will work forever.

Can I add a logo to the QR code?

While this tool doesn’t have an “Add Logo” button, you can set the ECC to “High” and then use a separate image editor to place a small logo in the dead center of the generated code.

Why won’t my code scan?

Ensure there is enough contrast (black pattern on white background is best). Also, make sure you haven’t put too much text into a small code, as this makes the pattern too dense for some older cameras to read.

Is there a cost per scan?

No. Static QR codes are free and have no scan limits. We do not track or charge for hits to your QR codes.
